St. Anthony Mann

Look Again

“I wanted to convey the experience of something not being exactly as it seems.”

Built on eclectic sounds and deep emotion, and grounded with a unique voice, Look Again is the latest cinematic indie-folk offering from Minneapolis’ St. Anthony Mann, the stage name of Adam Bjoraker. Collaborating once again with friends JT Bates (Big Red Machine, Bonny Light Horseman) and Mike Noyce (Bon Iver), as well as bringing in the prowess of band mainstays and new voices Sarah Elstran (The Nunnery) and Nat Harvie, the new LP carries on to further creative territory and promises to captivate fans with an innovative approach to songwriting.

Reflecting on the record, Bjoraker says, “I was captivated by the building blocks of communication and language. How such small and nuanced things come to structure our understanding of the world. The lyrics for many songs on this record were born from these reflections, exploring the invisible threads and synchronicities that shape our lives."

There’s a mysterious melancholy that Bjoraker invokes in his songs, with his raw and captivating voice, drawing the listener in to something deeper than a surface-level engagement - as if there’s more here than meets the ear. And the more one listens - the more intently one listens - the more this truth is realized.

Simply through his rich creative offering, Bjoraker sends out an invitation to anyone willing to reconsider what it is we see when we observe, and then look again. As the closing track confirms, once we look carefully at our experience, it really does “feel so good to come around”.
